Here’s a tip. If the word “Nigeria” appears in any communication, it is a scam.
It is a common scam where people will make offers for computers for more than they are worth, then send you a fake paypal message or phony money orders or something. They will even send you valid fedex numbers and such for shipping, but rest assured, you will receive no money.
Always check your paypal account balance… never rely on a payment notification.
Always complete transactions through eBay or you will have NO recourse for problem resolution.
If you receive payment by some kind of check or money order, and you have any suspicion at all, take it to your bank, tell them you suspect the checks may be phony, fraudulent or invalid, and they should be able to check them for you (without charging you NSF fees!!!) which is why you tell them the situation BEFORE you cash them.
Oh, and NEVER give them any personal information, including your address. If you are selling anything on ebay, only use paypal or get a P.O. box for receiving payments.

Yeah, it’s a scam. Nigeria is a definite tipoff. Do not do business with Nigeria as it is a cesspool of bad business and scams.
Use E-bay and Paypal system to go through your purchase. Do not go through outside e-mail channels, as that will invariably lead you to losing both your item and some money in the process.

Scam…who would willingly pay more for something they can get for less. Or play along, knowing that you are NEVER to pay a single cent in upfront costs, or give any personal info like bank accounts, names, SSNs. If they want to send you the money and wait for the item, wonderful…but I would be willing to lay money down you won’t see a dime of it.

I am selling my laptop online and I received the EXACT same email through ebay. Word for word. Do not sell to this user. It is a scam! There is also another email being sent out from a Dr. Richard but I do not remember the last name. It also is to Africa so avoid contact with that person as well. Just a heads up. I had no idea of this scam when I first got the email but I knew it was too good to be true. Thank God for search engines like yahoo that you can find information on these scams!
