How do i Fix the lag in games?

ok my computer has 2.0g memory and 250g space i just bought nvidia geforce 8400 gs 512mb. it has 1g ram and i still having problems with lag even in campaigns without internet. I have tried deleting stuff running in background and searching for spyware and viruses. please need help

    Whats your processor speed? Processor is equally as important as Graphics card.

    For newwer games you need at least core 2 duo 2.2GHZ

    Also games require a minimum of 1GB ram, if you just meet that then your system will run slow if your playing with high settings. Look at getting 2GB DDR2 ram

    try deleteing thing that are useless to you and yes search for spyware or viruses. I say if u have any other game on ur computer that u dont play anymore delete them

    There are Two options
    1: U need Ccleaner and eliminate all the register problems u have
    then delete al the temp. files and restard ur pc(and get more RAM and at least a Nvidia 8600 GT)
    2: (This is only in internet games xD) Wich is the easiest one get a better internet service

    Well, if you you have been having this computer for a long time, or have been deleting and download very large files, I recommend something. Its a process called Disk Defragmentation. Basically what happens is the ‘Disk Defragmenter.EXE’ acts as your secretary and organizes a messy office. Your computer searches through files with left over junk from old ones, which could slow down the process.

    Few tricks that will help with alleviating lag defrag the comp, lower the graphic settings on the game( this includes shutting off shadows , reflecting water and such I know the pretty graphics ), add more ram, and delete the junk off the computer. Yes i Know you did some of this but just in case others may be having problems as well. and look at your possessor this will effect your speed as will the graphics card.
