Will this joint-campaign by the Swedish media work?
by admin on Aug.29, 2010, under Media & Journalism
They’ve set up a joint-campaign to free the Swedish-Eritrian journalist Dawit Isaak who has been jailed in Eritria for years without trial for writing about sensitive issues concerning the government.
I’m just wondering what the chances are that this will have any effect? Anyone know of any similar cases which had any effect?

Where are we headed now with the internet, the media, and the public voice during elections?
by admin on Sep.23, 2009, under Media & Journalism
This is amazing. When…WHEN EVER in time in history has the internet become the people’s forum to this degree, influencing an election? Our global time square, where WE CAN SPEAK! What an amazing time. Where the ALL MIGHTY MEDIA, THE ELITE MEDIA is being held to account by the…Public. And if they don’t speak the truth, bloggers will grow at an extraordinary rate blogging about their biasness, and irresponsible reporting.
Where Presidential candidates can blog their constituents, and their voters right to their inbox and even texts! Teens, and young adults know what is going on more than ever! (I am so proud too, Michelle Obama). It is far more compelling than a newspaper for them I am sure.
Where a letter to Sarah Palin can travel the internet and become viral?
Where people organize together, bash each other, throw words of stones and inspire one another? Even though I know Obama does not personally send me my update letters…I sure love them. I really do. That Obama even is utilizing the internet for his campaign, and we know (almost) exactly where is his campaign contributions are at, and how much we need to donate to keep him going… his up-to-the-date news is awe inspiring.
I do not have to rely on CNN, NBC, CBS and FOX anymore…and that alone had me become re-inspired in our government. Because blogs like Daily Koss, and Scopes, Face Book groups and many, many others are setting the tone for what is out there.
Stories from individuals interviewing citizens on their own, or personal character witnesses letters are creating buzz and altering how we are voting. I know my blogging alone has persuaded people to cross the party line…
There is no time in history quite like this. Where will we be in 5 years or 10? How will elections be held? Online? Nice.
How do I get the press to notice a press release?
by admin on Aug.12, 2009, under Media & Journalism
I’m running a political campaign and will be sending out a press release to all the local media contacts tomorrow. How do I get them to notice it? I’m sure they get a lot of press releases and ignore most of them. Should I paste the text of it into the email and also attach it as an attachment? If it’s a mass email how do I address it — “Dear Member of the Press”?
How Much Should I Charge for Writing an Article?
by admin on Aug.10, 2009, under Media & Journalism
I am writing a handful of articles, from one to two pages long. It is in regards to a field I am in, and it is going to be used in an online campaign to gain business. Some of the articles I will have to research, others I can write off the top of my head. I will charge more for the articles I will have to research.
This is a company we do real estate transactions with, and he has asked me to write him these articles and he would like for me to put a price on them.
Paypal Refunds – Donations used for lawyers EMAIL CAMPAIGN?
by admin on Aug.02, 2009, under Media & Journalism
If you have donated in good faith to the Find Madeleine fund, you have been paying to save the bacon of the McCann’s and feed sharks. Justine the Team McCann spokesperson has today confirmed our worst fears that the fund is paying for lawyers fees. The following is her quote, not mine and no matter what way you dress this up it is fraud in the highest degree.
“So far only £70,000 has been spent – on setting up a website, running a press office, producing wristbands, T-shirts and posters and paying legal fees”
Phil ma can runs the website so would have benefited directly, lawyers for the Tapas 9 to advise on “how do we cover leaving all our children alone night after night the eldest being only 3 years old” Wristbands to make more money and t shirts and posters to advertise the donating website – no Private Investigators and nothing that would directly be involved in searching for poor Madeleine.
Please pass this on as an email campaign.
Below is the company directors who have after much pressure had to state there is conflict of interests on all counts and as such there is a conflict of interest policy.
WHERE IS THIS “CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY”? It needs to be made public.
The fund is under the control of relatives or family friends, including Peter Hubner, 64, a retired consultant; Gerry’s brother John McCann, 48; former GMTV presenter Esther McVey, 39, who runs a Liverpool-based PR firm; Doug Skehan, 54, a clinical director of cardiology at Glenfield Hospital, where Gerry works; Philip Tomlinson, 76, a lawyer and former Leicestershire coroner; and Brian Kennedy, 68, Madeleine’s great uncle.
With the money clearly being the focus of the McCann’s we need to hit them where it hurts, and before anyone can jump down my throat that I am “unhelpful” if you wish to donate the money you manage to get recalled from Pay pal to a “REAL CHARITY” searching for missing children then I suggest you find a reputable charity and not a LTD Company begging for lawyers fees and dressing it up as a “FUND”
PAYPAL OFFER A PROTECTION POLICY – QUOTE BELOW*
*13.1 Buyer Protection Programmes. If you buy an item using PayPal and either do not receive the item or receive an item that you believe is Significantly Not as Described by the seller, we encourage you to open a Dispute with the seller in our “Resolution Center” located on the PayPal Website(s). By doing so, you will initiate our “Online Dispute Resolution Process”—a step-by-step system designed to facilitate communication between you and the seller in order to get resolution of the issue. If your dialogue with the seller fails to produce a satisfactory result, you can then escalate the Dispute into a Claim that we will evaluate for reimbursement .
Once again please start an email campaign to recall donations and resend them to a real charity, I am a loving, caring mother of 2 and am doing this as clearly the only way to get any real justice for Madeleine is to hit the pockets of their neglectful parents and relatives.
Is Barack Obama’s online campaign a success?
by admin on Jul.02, 2009, under Media & Journalism
Given Obama’s masterful campaign, particularly his use of the Internet, do you see a new age in communications?
by admin on Jun.29, 2009, under Media & Journalism
Like him or not, Obama ran one hell of a campaign. Two years ago, would you ever have imagined a man with the name of Barack Hussein Obama would be elected President? Yet he ran a cohesive, intelligent campaign that used the internet masterfully. Now, word is that Obama will deliver a weekly “radio” address similar to the fireside chats given by FDR – and that they will also be broadcast over the Internet. It looks as though Obama will take his Presidency directly to the people – bypassing the media altogether. What does this say about the media, particularly outlets like Fox News, and how they will represent politics in the future?
Any web sites with OBJECTIVE FACTS about the political candidates?
