Vinyl versus Wood Fence for Best Return on Investment for Living in the House Only 4 Years?
by admin on Jul.25, 2010, under Garden & Landscape
I asked chain link versus wood privacy and people seemed almost 100% in favor of wood privacy vs chain link for return on investment. Here’s the thing…We’re only going to be living in the house for 4 years until I finish vet school, so we need to be able the sell house ASAP but I don’t want to invest a bunch of money in a vinyl fence if it’s not going to a better ROI than wood privacy. What is the better return on investment (NOT which would you personally prefer in your yard): wood privacy or vinyl fence?
It’s in central Missouri, so there are definitely 4 distinct seasons.
It is on the high list of priorities for me as I have 3 large athletic dogs and I need a high ROI because this is not my dream home. Maybe when I’m a rich vet, I can afford to put in whatever *I* want, but for now, I have to do with what is most cost effective when I re-sell in 4 years.
Septic & tree planting help. How far from the disposal field should my trees be? How far from septic tank? ++

And, how far from dosing tank (whatever that is). I planted some holly bushes and scotch broom close to the tanks (within 3 feet of the covers). Will this be a problem. I have a crape myrtle about 10 – 15 feet away. I want to add a dogwood, cleveland pear and a red maple around the yard – what is the closest that they should be to the field and the tanks? Thanks in advance!
Chain link vs wood privacy: better return on investment?
by admin on May.12, 2010, under Garden & Landscape
Me and my husband are buying a house in the next few weeks. Many of the properties we are looking at don’t have fenced backyards or they are too short (we have athletic large dogs). The dogs won’t be outside under supervised. We need to be able to sell the house ASAP in 4 years when I’m done with vet school, so what would be the best ROI on fencing: chain link or wood privacy? I’m also considering bamboo, but not sure how that would hold up. None of the properties seem to have restrictions on wood privacy vs. chain link.
Alrighty, wood it is! Anyone have any further commentary on bamboo fencing? How well would it hold up to dogs? What about pricing and ROI?

I am doing a project and need to know what is important to garden club members in order to send them an email?

I am a co-op student and my marketing project is to email garden clubs and offer them free samples of the garden products the company I work for makes. I need to know how to approach the clubs in my initial email so I want some insight into what they value most (ie free products, education, etc). This will help me choose my approach in order to get the largest response for my campaign. Any insight from gardeners/club members would be appreciated!

I am a co-op student and my marketing project is to email garden clubs and offer them free samples of the garden products the company I work for makes. The products are more expensive, electronic items so clubs will be given a choice of one of three products. I need to know how to approach the clubs in my initial email so I want some insight into what they value most (ie free products, education, etc). Should I just email and say “free product” or send them some research on a problem and how the products help solve it? Something else? This will help me choose my approach in order to get the largest response for my campaign. Any insight from gardeners/club members would be appreciated!
